GOVERNOR Sullivan Chime’s stand on maintenance of zoning arrangements for political offices in Enugu State and his insistence that all elective offices should be limited to only two terms, have won commendation from the National Youth Solidarity Support for President Jonathan, Enugu chapter. Simon Okechukwu state secretary of the group, said Governor Chime would, forever, be remembered for keeping his words on zoning the next governorship slot to Enugu North senatorial district.

He thanked the governor for insisting that the National Assembly and State Assembly members, who have served a second term, should step aside and allow another set of people to represent the state.  He further joined and supports Governor Chime in advocating the adoption of a two- term arrangement.

Okechukwu also asked the people of Igbo-Etiti and Uzo-Uwani local government councils to allow Princess Stella Ngwu, representing the constituency in the House of Representatives to serve a second term irrespective of the one term agreement between the two local government areas. “Hon. Princess Stella Ngwu has performed well; we should also remember what our amiable Governor Sullivan Chime told us that ranking is a thing we should not put aside because a second term legislator is a ranking member who is in   a better position to head a committee and that would enable him to help his people. Therefore, we should all support her second term,” he said.

Okechukwu advised the good people of Igbo-Etiti and Uzo-Uwani local government areas to sit down and together resolve the issues to make things work better ahead of the 2015 general elections. “We must go back to Igbo-Etiti and Uzo-Uwani and have a transformation agenda on how our legislators will be in their offices.  It must be transformed, it cannot continue like this, we cannot continue to be on wrong footing; one term is a bad footing and I, as a young man, support two terms for every legislator. Somebody must be denied something for a condition to be improved and we must all move forward in support of the good works of Governor Sullivan Chime in Enugu State and President Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan.”

Meanwhile, Ejikeme Odumegwu, national coordinator of the group, said the federal government should step up its approach towards rescuing the kidnapped girls in Chibok, Borno State. He stressed the urgent need for the girls to be rescued and prayed for all Nigerians to embrace God irrespective of their religious and tribal background.
