GOV. Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra, has inaugurated the Oakville Estate, a private property investment company in the Millennium Estate area of Agu Awka, part of the Anambra capital city.

Soludo, represented by Mr Ernest Ezeajughi, his Chief of Staff, commended Think Home Developers and Realtors Limited, owners of Oakville Estate, for heeding the call of his administration on investors to invest at home.

The governor said his government would continue to improve the investment climate in Anambra and called on the diaspora community of the state to take advantage of the business opportunities in the state.

He regretted the destruction of properties in some parts of the country but advised developers to buy genuine lands and ensure they passed through all approval processes by the relevant authorities before constructing.

According to Soludo, Anambra State is getting better and the environment is conducive for investors now.

In his address, Mr Chidi Okafor, Managing Director of Think Home Developers and Realtors Limited, said the company was glad with Soludo’s effort to make Anambra a livable and prosperous homeland through massive construction of roads across and leisure parks in the capital city.

Okafor said “the Oakville estate is in line with the vision of creating a smart city where our people will love and desire to stay, adding that the Estate is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.

He said Oakville has assembled a team of professionals with proven experience in the field of infrastructure development with the aim of creating an estate with ultra-modern facilities that are comparable to what is obtainable in the western world.

“The new government house, the Solution Fun City, Awka 2.0 and the numerous other projects, particularly road infrastructures that are traversing the length and breadth of the state, are a testament to your vision for Anambra.

“With the capacity you have demonstrated, Anambra people can now conveniently key into the ‘Aku Luo Uno’ mantra.

“Today’s event is a response to that call and I am aware that more of our people both in the country and in diaspora are pulling resources together to bring investments home.

“Oakville Estate is the first and only estate in Anambra that is currently designed with an underground drainage system, House with a lounge, Cinema, Conference Room, Gym, and Rooftop bar when completed,” he said.

Okafor added that the Estate already had a network of subscribers which includes the Chevron and Shell group cooperatives and other professionals from Anambra and diaspora.

He appreciated the partners of the company, including the Awka Millenium City and the host community for their cooperation while promising to be socially responsible as a corporate entity.

“Oakville will be a smart estate equipped with an Electric Vehicle charger,” he said.

Prof Uche Amucheazi, Commissioner for Lands in Anambra who also spoke at the event, promised to ease land processing and encouraged investors to feel free to work with the ministry. (NAN)
