THE Anambra Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh has reiterated Mr.Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo's readiness to support laudable initiatives geared toward helping indigent indigenous Anambra students in higher Institutions.

Prof. Chuma-Udeh said this while addressing members of the National Association of Nigerian Students NANS, Anambra Branch in her office at Udorji State Secretariat Complex, Awka.

The commissioner while enjoining the students to come up with laudable initiatives that would help indigent indigenous students in their midst, pledged the state's support for such programs.

"I believe it's more feasible to come up with programs to help indigent students than seeking a bursary for all indigenous Anambra students."

She called on students to adopt a more proactive outlook in life by keying into some of the ongoing  state initiatives such as the 1 Youth, 2 skills acquisition program, the Solution Innovation District (SID), and other programs aimed at equipping youths with skills that will help build a progressive society.

"The present administration is looking forward to graduating students with the mindset of what can I do for my state; graduates who are thinking in the direction of how to use their talents and skills in the development of the state and nation than students who are looking to the government for white-collar jobs."

She urged the students to grab the opportunity presented by the administration and equip themselves with aptitudes that will help them embrace and navigate the tidal change going on in the labour market.

She further assured the Union of Mr.Governor's determination to create a conducive atmosphere for learning in all the state higher Institutions.

The Union was at the Ministry to seek solutions to challenges facing Anambra students in higher institutions.

Some of the issues raised by the Union were bursary awards, non-accreditation of programs, insecurity, and erosion menace.
