Solutions thin on ground as crisis rocking Slovakia Government rages on

NO solutions were in sight for the weeks-long crisis roiling the Slovakian Government.
Economy Minister Richard Sulik again said on Wednesday that he would resign on Aug. 31, if no agreement was reached by then.
Sulik, who leads the liberal Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) Party, called for the resignation of Finance Minister Igor Matovic, according to TASR news agency.
However, Matovic, a former prime minister and the founder of the largest governing party Olano, is refusing to step down.
The two were unlikely to reach an agreement, with relations between them seen as highly strained, partly since Matovic pushed an anti-inflation package through parliament with the help of right-wing radicals despite the opposition from his coalition partner.
If four SaS ministers resign, Prime Minister Eduard Heger could continue to govern with a minority cabinet but the country could also hold a snap election. (dpa/NAN)
