Europrysma, a Spanish Agro company, has indicated interest in investing in full mechanised cassava production and processing in Anambra State.
Pedro Munoz, the managing director of the company, presented the investment procedures to the Ministry of Agriculture and Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency, ANSIPPA.
Munoz said the investment worth about 6 million Euros with a ready market to buy off the proceeds.
He added: “the company will return a profit of about 600,000 Euros after investment cost has been covered’’.
Munoz, then, noted that the Spanish Company had chosen Anambra State because of the enabling environment provided by Gov. Willie Obiano’s administration.
“We have found a good weather condition in this state that is suitable for cassava production.
“Our company will generate power through waste conversion, which will be used by the firm as well as extended to host community,’’ Munoz said.
Receiving the team in his office, Afam Mbanefo, the commissioner for Agriculture, re-assured the team that the state had what it took for the investment to be consummated.
The commissioner was represented by Emenike E E Ezinnado, the permanent secretary in Ministry.
He led the team to the Agric Control Centre, where they were shown the Farmers’ Information Management System, established by the state government.
The team later proceeded to ANSIPPA office for processing of their investment packages.
