Speaker felicitates with Nasarawa monarch on 25th anniversary

THE Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, on Sunday described the Ohimege Opanda in Toto Local Government Area of the state, Alhaji Usman Abdullahi, as an outstanding monarch.
He said this in a congratulatory message issued by his Press Secretary, Mr Jibrin Gwamna, to celebrate the monarch’s 25th anniversary in Umaisha.
Abdullahi, who represents Umaisha/Ugya Constituency at the state Hous3 of Assembly, further described the traditional ruler as a symbol of peace and unity in the state.
“The monarch is a quintessential father, who stands tall among his equals considering his track record in peace, unity and quest for national and societal development.
“He has demonstrated his leadership qualities in the last 25 years through the enhancement of peace, unity and development among the various ethnic nationalities in the state.
“I pray Almighty Allah to continue to protect him, give him more of long life in good health and wisdom, to continue to walk in the path of destiny and lead us aright,” the speaker noted.
The parliamentarian stated that the Ohimege Opanda, as a retired permanent secretary, had no doubt brought his wealth of experience into kingship, bringing about wonderful developmental achievements in the area.
“It is on record that on the day the Ohimege left Jos in Plateau, to ascend the throne of his ancestors, the people witnessed heavy rainfall, to welcome him back home with jubilation.
“And he remains a blessing to all of us and indeed a father to all.”
The speaker called on his constituents to continue to support the royal father with prayers to enable him to succeed.
Abdullahi reaffirmed the state assembly’s commitment to supporting traditional institutions and other arms of government to enhance the development of the state. (NAN)
