THE Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Mr Danladi Jatau, has called on citizens to pray and support Gov. Abdullahi Sule to succeed.
Jatau made the call at an All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders meeting of the six electoral wards of his constituency on Saturday in Garaku, Kokona Local Government Area (LGA).
The speaker said that Sule has passion and commitment to develop the state if supported by the people, especially the stakeholders.
“His Excellency, Gov. Sule, has passion and interest of the state at heart. He has provided infrastructure in Kokona and other local government areas of the state.
“One of the ways to support the governor is to promote peace and peaceful coexistence in our various communities.
“As you are all aware, there can be no development where there is no peace; let’s give peace a chance,” he added.
Jatau charged the people of Kokona to adhere to its power-sharing philosophy to promote peace, unity, and equity in their communities.
The speaker said that power sharing builds trust and confidence among people.
He advised stakeholders in Kokona Local Government to ensure that nobody was left in the scheme of things as they elect leaders in the local government.
“I am happy today that party officials and stakeholders of Kokona West have endorsed power sharing, and I will convene a stakeholders meeting of Kokona East to do the same.
“We have had Hausa Fulani as chairman; Eggon had their turn; Mada did theirs, and now it is Mr Awalu Adamu from Hausa Fulani as chairman.
“Another tribe will produce the next chairman in Kokona to ensure rotation of power among the people,” he added.
Mr Jacob Terry, Chairman, APC Kokona LGA, called for support for Gov. Abdullahi Sule and the Speaker Jatau to succeed.
Terry said that the speaker’s message would be conveyed to the party leadership for implementation.
The APC chairman also commended the speaker for being up and doing in developing his constituency and the state at large.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that different stakeholders spoke on their vision for Kokona and the state at large. (NAN)
