THE second edition of GTBank Super Cup ended in a grand style as Ogun state schools defeated the Lagos representatives on Wednesday, December 2, at the Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu, Ogun State.

The highly thrilling 2015 GTBank Super Cup showed class between Masters cup and Principals’ cup winners.

The teams who were motivated by the presence of Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State and Segun Agbaje, managing director of the Guaranty Trust Bank, exhibited good football artistry to the delight of about 10,000 fans who turned up for the event. Majority of the audiences were students and National Youth Service Corps members.

Speaking at the event, Agbaje said: “The GTBank Super Cup competition will continue to pave the way for youths to cultivate their sporting talents and aptitudes, whilst fostering and building a healthier lifestyle at a critical stage in their lives.”

In the female category, Muslim High School, Isolu, beat Ikotun girls 2-0 by converting a beautiful chance as well as spot kick that gave the team the coveted super trophy.

In the male category, it was Pakoto High School, Ogun State, who carried the day by defeating Birrel Avenue Senior High School Lagos, a debutant, 1-0.

The Super Cup is a competition of champions to produce the ‘Champions of Champions’. This competition is held between the winner of Principals’ Cup and winner of Heritage Cup, in a battle for the ultimate title of the champion of champions.
