Sri Lankan president expresses shock at death of Iranian president

SRI Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe, on Monday, said he was deeply shocked and saddened by the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash.
Raisi was, on Sunday, killed in the crash along with the country’s Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian and some other senior Iranian officials.
In a statement, Wickremesinghe expressed sympathy to the bereaved families and the government and people of Iran.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of President Raisi and his entourage,’’ Wickremesinghe said. (Xinhua/NAN)
