
Stakeholder seeks support for school sports for talents discovery

OLAYINKA Shokoya, Founder and Chief Executive Organiser (CEO), Elite School Cup, has called on organisations, individuals and stakeholders in the education sector to support the development of school sports.
Shokoya spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on the sidelines of Elite School Cup finals,a football competition, held at Queens College sport complex, Lagos,
He said sponsorship of different competitions would give opportunities to learners with sporting talents, to not only discover themselves but also make sport a career.
“Am calling on organisations, companies, individuals who have the capacity, captains of industries and school owners to develop school sports through sponsorship.
“Whatever is sowed into the young ones will be given back. We should support school sports ;we should build budding talents and give them the exposure to excel in sports”,he said.
Shokoya advised organisations to do more in sponsoring school sporting competitions ,it would give their products and services more visibility and increase their revenue.
He said that the Elite School Cup football competition, in its sixth edition, had grown with benefits hence, there was the need for more participation and sponsorship.
Shokoya thanked the Lagos State Sports Commission(LSSC) for the support given during the sixth edition and appealed for more support for the next edition.
