THE ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has urged the Igbo to join the ruling party to end the cry of marginalisation of the South-East geo-political zone.
John Odigie-Oyegun, the national chairman of APC, who made the call on Thursday, September 28, during a reconciliation meeting with the aggrieved aspirants at the recently-conducted Anambra State governorship primary, said it would serve the interest of Igbo if the APC should emerge victorious in the forthcoming November 18, governorship poll.
Odigie-Oyegun said: “Anambra State is very significant to us and it is the gateway to the South-East. It is important that we do everything we can to bring state into the fold of the progressives.”
Similarly, Governor Muhammad Abubakar of Bauchi State, who led the campaign team, described the inclusion of Anambra State in the fold of the APC as the beginning of the “integration and end of marginalisation of the zone.”
Tony Nwoye, governorship candidate of the APC in the state, and Ken Nnamani, a former Senate president, similarly called for concerted efforts to bring the state into the fold of the party.
