THE Super Eagles of Nigeria moved up four places in the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday, October 20, by the world’s football governing body.

The Eagles largely benefitted from the away victory secured over Zambia in the 2018 World Cup qualifying series as they are now ranked 60th in the world.

Despite the steady rise, however, the Super Eagles are still outside of the top 10 teams in Africa as they are placed at the 11th position on the continent.

Similarly, Ivory Coast jumped three positions to 31 to lead African nations, while Senegal, who jumped seven places, is now second ahead of Algeria and Tunisia.

Ghana, Egypt, DR Congo, Congo, Mali, and Cameroon complete the roster of the top 10 teams in Africa.

On the world scene, Argentine national team remains number one while Germany is now second and Brazil, who jumped one position, to claim third position.
