THE Ogun Deputy Gov, Mrs. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, has called for more support from members of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state in order to enjoy more dividends of democracy.
Salako-Oyedele also urged APC members and those desiring to join the party to register at their respective wards so as to jointly take the party to greater heights.
The deputy governor stated these during the official flag-off of the registration/revalidation exercise of APC at Ward 3 in Ota.
She appealed to members to come out en masse for the exercise and also canvass for more people to join forces together to make the party greater in the state.
According to her, politics is a game of numbers but not a social club, adding that members must work harder to gain more people for the party.
Salako-Oyedele also used the occasion to formally welcome those who had recently defected to APC from other political parties.
“In APC, there are lots of benefits accruable to every member. Therefore, all hands must be on deck for the success of the party,” She said.
The deputy governor called on those registering and revalidating their membership to use their correct names and phone numbers to ensure clearer identity and enhance future opportunities.
She enjoined both old and new members to avoid segregation in order to ensure smooth and successful exercise.
Salako-Oyedele also called on all security agencies in the state to provide adequate security for the exercise, expected to end on Feb. 25.
Alhaji Lawal Wasiu, the Transition Committee Chairman of Ado-Odo Ota Local Government council, said that adequate plans had been made to ensure the smooth running of the exercise in the area.
The chairman, who doubles as the Chairman, Registration/Revalidation Committee in the council area, appealed to members to support the exercise in order for the party to achieve the desired result.
He said that the registration of the deputy governor in her ward was an indication that the exercise had fully commenced at wards and other locations within the local government area. (NAN)
