Support govt. in fight against insecurity, NGO urges Imo residents

AN NGO, Royal Ambassadors Charity Home, has urged Imo residents to support government’s efforts in the fight against insecurity in the state.
The NGO’s Executive Director, Mr Jonathan Okwudiri, stated this in Owerri on Monday, shortly after the inauguration of the organisation’s executive working team.
According to Okwudiri, security is everyone’s business, adding that there cannot be a secure state if residents are indifferent to events that may threaten the security of their neighborhoods.
He said that residents should provide relevant information that could assist security agencies in arresting suspected criminals.
“As residents of Imo, you must join hands with our noble organisation to assist security agencies in the fight against criminal activities by quickly reporting suspicious movement or persons to appropriate authorities,’’ he said.
The executive director said that the objectives of the NGO included: empowering and defending fundamental rights of the less privileged individuals in the society, such as persons with disabilities, orphans and unemployed persons.
He pledged his commitment to promoting transparency and accountability within the organisation, even as called on the newly-inaugurated executives to do same.
The NGO’s new Coordinator, Mr Chinedu Peter, thanked Okwudiri and his team for finding time to perform the inauguration and pledged to justify the trust reposed in him.
“I pledge to continue to do my part for the success, progress, development and advancement of Royal Ambassadors Charity Home in Imo State,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the inauguration had in attendance a large number of persons living with disabilities (PLWDs). (NAN)
