MEMBERS of Sports Writers’ Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Ekiti chapter, on Monday, embarked on sensitisation of residents of the state on the importance of observing COVID-19 guidelines and protocols.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the sensitisation by SWAN was part of the activities marking this year’s Nigerian Sports Journalists Day.
The Day, which was the 57th edition, was used by the association to enlighten the public on ways of curbing the spread of the virus in the state.
NAN also reports that the SWAN members were led by its Chairman, Alhaji Qozeem Oladapo, at Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado-Ekiti.
The sports writers spoke with sportsmen and sportswomen, staff members of the State Sports Council and the general public on the dangers of not observing the safety measures.
NAN reports that the highlight of the sensitisation exercise was the distribution of stickers, posters and flyers on coronavirus by the sports journalists.
