AFTER years of public outcry and demands for transparency, the eagerly awaited findings of the investigation into the untimely death of Sylvester Oromoni Jr. are set to be revealed to the public.

Available information showed that the long-awaited findings of the investigation into the untimely death of Oromoni Jr. would be released to the public on Monday, April 15, 2024, barring any unforeseen circumstances.

It could be recalled that the tragic incident, which occurred on November 30, 2021, shook the entire nation to its core, when 12-year-old Oromoni, a student at Down College in Lagos, succumbed to injuries sustained in an alleged attack by senior students of the school.

The death of Oromoni sparked widespread outrage and increased calls for accountability within the educational institutions.

In response, the Lagos State Government swiftly shutdown the school and launched a coronary inquest into the tragic incident, a process initiated in January 2022.

Throughout the inquiry, the Oromoni family, backed by Human Rights Lawyer Femi Falana, SAN, steadfastly pursued the truth and justice in the unfortunate incident.

Their unwavering resolve was reechoed during his burial on Saturday, January 27, 2024, where his father, Sylvester Oromoni Sr., reiterated the family’s dedication to seeking justice at all costs, not only for their son, but also for all victims of negligence within the nation’s educational institutions.

As the nation awaits in anticipation of the inquiry’s findings, the Oromoni family has issued a call for national solidarity, urging Nigerians to unite in prayer for them. They expressed the hope that the revelations stemming from the inquiry will reveal the true circumstances surrounding his death and will further institute accountability and reforms within the educational system.
