A 32-year-old tailor, Hamza Abdulkadir, on Wednesday appeared in a Chief Magistrates’ Court in Kaduna State, for allegedly punching a co-tenant during an argument over money he borrowed.
The police charged the defendant, a resident of Malali in Kaduna, with two counts of assault and damage.
The prosecutor, Insp Chidi Leo, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 1.
Leo alleged that the defendant on the same date, at about 4.30 p.m assaulted his co-tenant, Mohammed Sani, during an argument over money he borrowed.

Leao said the offence contravened the provisions of sections 271 and 58 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law, 2017.
The Magistrate, Ibrahim Musa, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100, 000 and a surety in like sum and adjourned the case until March 22, for hearing. (NAN)
