Taiwan, Kebbi Govt to explore avenues for cultural exchanges, says Commissioner

A cultural exchange agreement is in the offing between the Government of Taiwan and the Kebbi Government, an official has disclosed.
Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed-BK, Commissioner for Information and Culture in the state made this known in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Birnin Kebbi on Monday.
“The likelihood of this agreement was discussed between the Head of Mission of the Taiwanese Government in Nigeria, Andy Yih-Ping Liu and the Kebbi State Commissioner of Information and Culture, Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi.
“The discussion took place on the sidelines of the ongoing Argungu Series 9 Art Exhibition taking place at the National Museum Onikan, Lagos.”
Ahmed-BK said the embassador, who was apparently impressed by the breathtaking cultural performances and the display of fishing tools by the Kebbi cultural troupe, used the opportunity to extend discussions into the realm of further cooperation between the two.
The idea, according to Ahmed-BK, is for the exchange programme to least to sharing of ideas on art and culture to stimulate undertaking on the values of cultural diversity and to open doors for more creative exchanges into other areas beneficial to them.
He added that a more detailed interfacing would take place in the coming weeks to see the idea to fruition. (NAN)
