THE Sokoto State Chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has honored former Sokoto State Governor, Sen. Aminu Tambuwal with a recognition plaque of excellence for his commitment to the development of women and children.

Tambuwal, set to receive the recognition plaque on Tuesday, dedicated it to the late Hajiya Aisha Maina, a former Chairperson of NAWOJ in the state.

Considering the honor as a gesture of generosity and encouragement, the former governor pledged his continued support to ensure a brighter future for the youths in the state and Nigeria at large.

Expressing gratitude for the recognition, Tambuwal encouraged NAWOJ to adhere to the ethical standards of the journalism profession.

Hajiya Rakiya Mohammed, the state chapter chairperson, highlighted the purpose of the recognition, appreciating the former governor for his sustained assistance and support in improving the lives of women and children.

She emphasised that women journalists in the state would persist in identifying and acknowledging stakeholders dedicated to societal development. (NAN)
