THE Proprietor of First Class Nursery and Primary School, Ilorin, Mr Jamiu Babatunde, has urged parents to teach their wards and children moral values of life.

Babatunde made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ilorin on Friday.

According to him, educating the children on moral values would make them useful to their families and society.

He said that some children lacked moral training, which mostly affected their behaviour in society.

“Charity begins at home.

“Train your children how to behave in public and not pamper them.

“Teach them how to talk and respect elderly persons.

“Teach them not to lie or steal.

“Teach them good manners, hard-work and how to dress decently.

“Teach them not to always loose hope after first attempt.

“Teach them that life is full of challenges, which one must be ready to face,” Babatunde said.

He further urged parents not to be afraid to discipline their children when they misbehave.

He said rather, parents should  monitor and caution their children when they are found engaging in bad acts.

”When children are morally trained, it will guide and lead them to a positive path in life,” he said.

Babatunde advised parents to shun bad attitude in their children’s presence in other to play the role model to them. (NAN)
