The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Tuesday in Kaduna said they were well prepared to defend their position as defending champions of the Ministry of Interior Games (MIGA).

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that NSCDC, also known as Civil Defence, won the maiden edition of MIGA in 2016, after emerging the overall winners.

Ahmed Mohammed, NSCDC’s Deputy Commandant-General (DCG) in charge of Administration, told NAN the Corps were well prepared to show their superiority over others in sports.

“We are going to take the first position as usual. We started planning very early for the games and our athletes are motivated to put in their best.

“Our athletes have been training within and outside the country in preparation for this games,’’ he said.

Mohammed who said NSCDC were taking part in all the games’ events with more than 300 athletes said he was very confident they were going to also win the 2018 edition.

“As at this moment (Tuesday morning), we have won eight  medals, while others have between  two or three medals each. So, it is evident that we are on course to another triumph,’’ he said.

The DCG said he was also confident of success because NSCDC athletes have been well motivated and they have no reason not to remain the best.
