SOME technology enthusiasts on Sunday announced the introduction of Tech Mentor Initiative, to train senior secondary students on technology.

The Co-Founder of Tech Mentor Initiative (TMI), Mr Taiwo Olori, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.
Olori said that the TMI is confident that collaborating with the government and educational sector would not only shape the future of the students, but also contribute to economic growth.
According to him, the intervention can also help students explore the exciting possibilities in the technology sector.
Olori said the goals of the initiative included educating students about the diverse fields in technology.
‘’Inspire them with real life stories from successful tech professionals, guide the students with practical advice on how to navigate their education with a focus on technology.
‘’Support them by offering ongoing mentorship and resources to keep the students engaged and on track among others,’’ he said.
Olori disclosed that the initiative was out of strong passion with a fellow tech. professional, Favour Martins, who is a Senior Product Manager.
“The strong passion for technology is the motivation to extend similar opportunities to young people,” he said.
The tech enthusiast said that the mentorship and training by TMI would provide students with digital experience.
According to him, the world is digital and the earlier our students are exposed to its opportunities leveraging their education, the better for the students and the nation at large.
