KANO State Fire Service confirmed on Monday that a 17-year-old boy drowned at Titin Jajira in Tofa Local Government Area of the state on Sunday.

Its spokesman, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, stated that the service’s rescue team brought the boy out of a pond, but was later confirmed dead by a doctor.

“The corpse was handed over to the police at Bachirawa Police Divisional headquarter,’’ he stated.

The fire service would continue to investigate the incident, Abdullahi added. (NAN)
