Teenager docked for alleged theft of Iron

AN 18-year old man, Gabriel Adebayo who allegedly stole a big iron belonging to another, appeared at an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Friday.

The accused person is standing trial on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

He appeared before the Magistrate, Mrs W. Kubeinje where he pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, alleged that Adebayo committed the offence on May 29, at Akintunde Williams Street, Oko Oba, Agege, Lagos.

She alleged that the he conspired with others now at large, to steal the iron belonging one Mr Olufemi Odusoye of the same address.

The iron is valued at N150,000.

According to prosecution, the accused stole the iron and used it across his drainage system to access the road.

The offence contravenes the provisions of section 287 and 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.

The court granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case until July 5 for mention.(NAN)
