
Terrorists ambush police officers, kill five in Katsina

FIVE policemen lost their lives in an encounter with bandits in Jibia LGA, Katsina State after falling into an ambush.
The incident occurred last Sunday while the officers were returning from their duty post in Zandam village to Jibia council headquarters.
According to reports, four of the officers were killed at the scene of the attack. The fifth officer died while receiving treatment at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina.
It was further revealed that following the attack, the hoodlums confiscated five AK-47 rifles belonging to the slain officers
Meanwhile, efforts to have the Katsina Police Command respond to the attack are still awaited as of the time of filing this report.
However, reports have it that the incident was confirmed in a security report, labelling the attack scene as a high-risk area, and warning against using the highway.
Lately, bandits have intensified their attacks on the community in Katsina despite the government’s effort to tame them. – vanguard
