SEN. Oluremi Tinubu (APC-Lagos Central), on Friday in Lagos urged Nigerian youths to embrace
modern technology and also reskill themselves for empowerment and employment.

Tinubu gave the advice at the 26th Town Hall meeting organised by her Senatorial District Office.

She noted that digital economy had taken across the world and that technology could be used to turn the tide in their favour.

“We cannot continue to wait for perfect conditions or hand-me-downs. We must look inwards to see what we can offer.

“This is why it saddens me every time an opportunity arises and we are unable to field candidates to take advantage of them
because our youths have not met the requirements.

“The times we live in require that we embrace technological advancement. In most cases where jobs are available our youths
have not registered online.

“I urge our young people to get involved in learning modern technology so they can empower themselves and be employable.
Gradually, we will reduce the rate of unemployment in our society,” Tinubu said.

Tinubu also urged youths to participate in employable skill training programmes to ensure a guaranteed future to make positive
impact on the country’s socio-economic development.

The wife of APC National Leader, Chief Bola Tinubu said:“My message to you today is: Stand up, take a step, learn a trade, get a
skill, participate in governing process, join a political party and be actively involved.

“The time for our youths to be docile or used to incite violence is over. The actions we take today will lay the foundation for our
future.”

Mr Tajudeen Olusi, an All Progressives Congress leader, commended the senator for paying attention to the well-being of the
constituents.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that 255 General Certificate of Education (GCE) forms were given out to students in
the constituency, while some sewing machines and tricycles were also given men and women
