To Avoid Lassa Fever, Maintain Clean Environment – Oduah #StopLassaFever

STELLA Oduah, senator representing Anambra North senatorial district, Oduah has called on Nigerians to exercise caution against the fast spreading Lassa fever.

Oduah, a former minister of aviation, advised people to imbibe the culture of maintaining a clean environment to avoid further spread of the Lassa fever as already reported in various states of the Federation.

Besides, she said avoiding close contact and reporting suspected victims to the nearest health centre would also help ‎in curbing the spread of disease.

“It is important for us to key into the ongoing sensitisation campaign by the ministry of Health and eventually, the disease will become a thing of the past,” she said.

Oduah also advised Nigerians, especially those in rural areas to get rat killers and other chemicals to enable them get rid of the virus infected rodents.

Outbreak of Lassa fever has been discovered in 11 states of the federation ‎cutting across all geopolitical zones with more than 40 deaths recorded.
