Trader docked for alleged sexual assault on 15-year-old apprentice

 A 39- year-old trader, Innocent Etolue, was on Friday docked in an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly  sexually abusing his 15-year-old male apprentice. 

The police charged Etolue, who resides at 6, Iworo St., Coker Aguda area, Lagos with sexual assault, indecent dealing, sexual harassment and infringement of one’s right .

The Prosecution Counsel, ASP Raji Akeem told the court that the offence were committed between September 2022 to Feb. 25 at the defendant’s residence.

Akeem said that the complainant, a 15-year-old boy who is  the defendant’s apprentice told his father how the defendant has been sexually abusing him.

Akeem said that the boy recounted many instances.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 10, 135, 263 and 264 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Bola Osunsanmi, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in likesum.

Osunsanmi adjourned the case until June 8 for mention (NAN)
