Trader docked for allegedly assaulting colleague

A trader, Usman Akingbade, 32, was on Thursday docked in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan for allegedly assaulting his colleague in the market.

The police charged Akingbade, whose residential address was not provided with conspiracy and assault occasioning harm.

The Prosecution Counsel, ASP Foluke Adedosu, told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence on March 7, at about 2.45 p.m, at Ogunpa market, Ibadan.

Adedosu alleged that Akingbade attacked Akeem Adekunle on his forehead with a cutlass.

She said the offence contravenes the provisions of sections 516 and 335 of the Criminal laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The defendant however pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Magistrate, Mrs O. A Enilolobo, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case until May 8 for hearing. (NAN)
