Trader jailed 3 months for stealing LG tv, car batteries

AN Area Court sitting in Jos on Monday sentenced a 21-year-old trader, Abdullahi Ibrahim to three months imprisonment for stealing LG television and car batteries.
A Panel of two Magistrates, Adam Sadiq and Hyacinth Dolnaan sentenced Ibrahim after he pleaded guilty.
They however gave him an option of N20,000
They said the judgment would serve as deterrent to those who would want to indulge in such criminal act.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Insp Ibrahim Gokwat told the court that the case was reported in Oct. 13 at the “C” Division Police station by Lawan Nayahaya of Sarkin Mangu street, Jos, the complainant.
The prosecutor said that the convict broke into the complainant’s shop and stole goods worth N130,000.
Prosecutor said the offence is punishable under sections 332and 272 of the Plateau Penal Code law.(NAN)
