Trader jailed 30 days for stealing cooking pot

AN Area Court in Jos on Monday sentenced a 21-year old trader, Obed Alexander to 30 days imprisonment for stealing cooking pot.

Magistrates Adam Sadiq and Hyacinth Dolnaan sentenced Alexander after he pleaded guilty to theft.

The magistrate however gave the convict an option of fine of N10,000.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Insp Monday Dabit told the court that the case was reported on Oct. 12 at the “B” Division Police station Bukuru by Police men led by Insp Ode Isaiah .

Dabit said that the convict was found with the a cooking pot and was arrested during patrol.

The offence, he said, punishable under Section 272 of the Plateau Penal Code  law. (NAN)
