Trado Sports: Bayelsa records second gold medal

THE pair of Beyisayo Adebiyi and Seun Aiyedun of Bayelsa, on Wednesday recorded their second gold medal in Ayo competition of the 2022 National Open Traditional Sports.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the duo won all the four games in the male double category in day two of the competition at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
The pair of Paave Aondoaka and Cyprine Akanochie of Edo finished second to win silver.
Richard Ben and Saidu Yusuf of Akwa Ibom finished third to win first bronze while the pair of Amadu Onalo and Monday Samuel of FCT also finished third to win their second bronze medal in the male double.
“My partner Aiyedun won gold on Tuesday and we both won gold in the double today glory be to God in the highest,” Adebiyi told NAN.
“We will go back home and prepare for the National Sports Festival in Delta,” he said.
In the female double, Emmanuel Blessing and Esther Joseph got the gold medal for Akwa Ibom.
Faith Okwudihu and Josephine Okwechime of Delta finished picked the silver.
FCT’s Sarah Kyerkyaa and Elizabeth Clement finished third place to win the bronze medal.
Bekes Brike and favour Dairo came third place to win second bronze medal.
The 2022 edition of the Sport featured Kokuwa, Dambe, Abula, Langa and Ayo.
The National Open Championship, which started on Monday is billed to close on Thursday. (NAN)
