ONE Jelili Idowu, 50, on Friday appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for crashing into a store and causing damage.

Idowu, whose address was not given, is facing a count charge of wilful damage.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The prosecutor, Insp. Funmi Akinleye, told the court that the defendant committed the offence in April 2021 in Lagos.

Akinleye said that the defendant drove a truck into a store belonging to one Bello Christopher, and damaged the store.

The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Section 350 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Magistrate, Mrs O. O Fajana, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Fajana ordered that the sureties should show evidence of two years tax payment to the Lagos State Government.

She adjourned the case until April 29, for mention.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that parties had obtained Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) form as advised by the presiding Magistrate to resolve the matter. (NAN)
