TUNISIAN Defense Ministry pledges to strengthen their ties with NATO.

”Tunisia hopes to benefit from its partnership with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in training and expertise exchange, Tunisian Defence Minister Imed Memmich said.

Memmich made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Chair of NATO Military Committee Robert Bauer, according to a statement by the ministry.

During the meeting, Memmich expressed his satisfaction with the progress in cooperation between Tunisia and NATO.

He noted that “This cooperation has contributed to strengthening the defence capabilities of the Tunisian armed forces, particularly after Tunisia obtained the status of major ally outside the alliance since 2015.”

For his part, Bauer underlined NATO’s commitment to enhancing cooperation and bolstering the partnership with Tunisia. (Xinhua/NAN)
