Udoma Udo Udoma, minister, lawyer and politician, 65, February 26. Born in Aba, Abia State, he was educated at King’s College, Lagos, 1966-1972; Oxford University, England, 1973-1977; Nigerian Law School, 1977-1978. He became a lecturer in law, University of Lagos, 1978-1980; senior partner, Udo Udoma and Bello Osagie Law Firm in Lagos. Udoma was appointed special adviser to the minister of petroleum resources, 1993-1994 and director, Nigerian Economic Summit Group, NESG, in February 2010, was chairman of the governing board of the Securities and Exchange Commission, SEC. He was elected a senator representing Akwa Ibom South senatorial zone at the National Assembly, 1999-2007. He is presently the minister of budget planning.
