Udu Clan Land in Delta Belongs to Delta Steel – BPE Warns

‎BPE warns trespassers to stay away from Land belonging to Delta Steel in Udu, Delta State

THE Bureau of Public Enterprises, BPE, has warned members of the public to desist from encroaching on the expanse of land in Udu Clan in Delta State captured in the Certificate of Occupancy Number 1858 dated, August 25, 1982 and conferred on the Delta Steel Company, DSC, for 99 years as the said land belongs to the Federal Government of Nigeria by compulsory acquisition which compensation was fully paid in accordance with the Land Use Act section 29.

In a statement by the management of the BPE on Monday, July 4, 2016, BPE noted that the properties in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State which are the properties of the Delta Steel Companyn DSC, Limited, Ovwian Aladja, Delta State, have been encroached upon illegally and advised the public particularly, individuals, organisations and communities engaged in illegal dealings on any part of the land to steer clear.

It said the properties include: the land around the NITEL mast on top of the flyover terminating at Otor Udu/Ughelli road;the land around the DSC Sewage Lagoon along the DSC Express Road opposite Mofor park; the Township Extension site, Orhuwhorun and its environs; the Airstrip site, Ovwodokpokpor and its environ; the uncompleted office block on 2 floors; the DSC Steel Township; the Training Centre and its environs with uncompleted buildings, the DSC Township; the EGC Yard and its environs with uncompleted buildings; the DSC Model Primary School 2, the DSC Township; and the land off Port-Harcourt Drive and its environs.

The Bureau further warned that “anybody who encroaches, buys, leases, develops or otherwise deals with any of the above listed properties without the consent and/or authority of the Bureau of Public Enterprises, acting through its accredited agents, Dan Odiete & Company, does so at his or her own risk”.

“For the avoidance of any doubt, no sale, lease, hire, transfer and/or occupation of any of the mentioned properties can be valid without the consent and authority of Bureau of Public Enterprises through its accredited agents- Dan Odiete & Company duly sought and obtained.

All trespassers are advised in their own interest to immediately vacate the mentioned DSC properties or approach Dan Odiete & Company at Number 2, Abraka Close, (Camp Extension), DSC Steel Town 3 to regularize their occupation, failure will lead to eviction and revocation”, according to the statement issued by Alex Okoh, head, Public Communication.
