UGOCHUKWU Okoroafor, a member of the Abia Judicial Panel of Inquiry on the Recovery of Government Assets and Funds has withdrawn his membership of the panel following his reappointment as a Special Adviser to Governor Alex Otti of Abia State.

According to the letter addressed to the Governor on July 25, 2023, Okoroafor expressed the hope that his withdrawal will ensure that his duties as SA to the governor do not hazard some conflict of interest in relation to the work of the panel.

Part of the letter read:

“I believe that my withdrawal will ensure that my duties as your SA do not hazard some conflict of interest in relation to the work of the panel.

“In anticipation of your approval, I thank your Excellency for giving me the opportunity to serve as a member of the judicial panel and I hereby pledge to continue to offer my best in the service of Abia State.”
