Ukodhiko congratulates Egede, new manager of Tin-Can Island Port

JONATHAN Ukodhiko, member representing Isoko North and South Federal Constituency,  has congratulated Sylvester Egede,

new manager of Tin-Can Island Port Complex of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), .

In a statement by his media assistant,  Ajiri-Oghene Oreh, on Monday, January 15, Ukodhiko said he was elated to hear of the news of the appointment of one of his constituents as substantive manager of the nation’s second largest seaport.

He said, “Egede’s appointment is in line with my personal aspiration of seeing to the appointment of Isoko sons and daughters into viable and respectable state and national offices, and I must thank the management of the NPA for the appointment.

“On behalf of the good people of Isoko North and South Federal Constituency, I heartily congratulate our brother and son, Mr Sylvester Othuke Egede from Igbide Kingdom on his appointment as the manager of Tin-Can Island Port Complex, Lagos State.

“My dear brother, your appointment is obviously a testament of your well-earned experience and competence, being a astute and renowned port manager.

“I enjoin you to deliver on your enormous managerial responsibility of the Ports, being one of the key drivers of the Federal Government’s maritime policies and programmes .

“You must always promote a genuine sense of fairness, deliberately ensuring inclusivity in your management strategy, mainstreaming everyone as stakeholders, and be a stickler for due process in your undertakings as a port manager.

“No doubts, quite a lot are expected from you particularly in the infrastructure development and the equipping of the port complex for efficient port administration and increased revenue generation.

“I trust your capability and ability to deliver on the Herculean task ahead even as I call on you to ensure enhanced security and decisively address the issue of the attacks of vessels along the channels of the ports.” Ukodhiko added 

The Isoko federal lawmaker, Ukodhiko assured of his support and cooperation to work with the new Tin-Can Island Port Chief, Sylvester Egede to deliver on his mandate for the growth of the nation’s maritime sector and benefits of all Nigerians.
