Ukodhiko congratulates Okowa for successful tenure

FEDERAL House of Representatives member-elect, Pst. Jonathan Ukodhiko has congratulated Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa on his successful tenure and achievements recorded as Governor of Delta State.

In his words, “I heartily felicitate with the outgoing Governor, Sen Okowa in the light of his impressive performances in his tenure and for his remarkable leadership of our dear State, Delta.

“As His Excellency exits office, he deserves commendations and plaudits for his vision and untiring pursuit of his programmes and projects which were people-friendly and developmental and are transparently executed.

The Isoko federal lawmaker-elect, Ukodhiko, in a statement on Sunday in Asaba, stated, “to a large extend, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has given us cause for joy in the State and we celebrate his purposeful leadership.

“He built on the foundations laid by previous administrations, and went on to contribute vastly to the transformations of physical infrastructure during his eight years tenure as the Governor of the State.

“Senator Okowa has commendably built over 2,000 kilometers of new roads and highways in the State just as he wisely constructed over 800kilometers drainage, storm water projects.

“As for human capital development which is always difficult to measure, we cannot enumerate the achievements there today.

“However, he doubled the size of public service employees especially in health, education sectors of the State not forgetting the spectacular Chike Edozien State Secretariat in Asaba his administration built and was inaugurated by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in 2021.

“Okowa surpassed others with his recorded unbeatable achievements in job creation and with thousands of youths being empowered through his STEP, YAGEP, GEEP, RYSA, Project GEST, ICT-YEP empowerment programmes.

“In healthcare delivery, he committed enormous financial resources with upgrade, building and equipping of various health facilities in the State.

“On education, he has taken bold steps and initiatives as a visionary leader in ensuring quality and accessible education. He achieved a feat in the establishments of tertiary educational institutions.

“There are no doubts all LGAs in the State bear imprints of out-going Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s developmental strides as well captured in the media.

“When one embarked on an excursion from Owa to Otor-Igho, from Asaba to Abraka and from Ogheye to the riverine communities of Ijaw m, it will definitely lead to astonishing encounters of the many projects of Okowa.

“His Excellency, Sen. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa has built and encouraged people, and he has also made us to believe in good governance.”

The former Commissioner of Energy appreciated the outgoing Governor, who he described as a father and leader with a large heart.

“I am full of immense appreciations to Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa for finding me worthy to serve in his administration as a Member of the State Executive Council as Commissioner in-charge of the Ministry of Energy.

“Our dear outgoing Governor Ifeanyi Okowa is a friend to the Isoko nation, and we appreciate his immense contributions to the development of Isoko and the empowerment of our people as he exits office today,” he added.
