MEMBER representing Isoko Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko has stressed the need for unity of purpose and peaceful coexistence for more development of Isoko.

Hon. Ukodhiko made the assertion on Sunday at Iyede in Isoko North Local Government Area during the meeting of “Okugbe Isoko for Sheriff” support group.

According to Ukodhiko, “the intention of the State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori and myself is to bring peace and development to Isoko-nation.

“One of the things I said I’ll do is to bring Isoko together in order to achieve our collective dreams, and we must support the aim of the Governor of unifying Isoko and Delta State.

“As we know that, it is only when people are united, that is when is the interest of an ethnic group can be achieved.

“So, for Isoko to be developed, we must be in unity and love ourselves. We must as a people learn to live a communal life in support of each other.”

The Isoko federal lawmaker noted stated the policies and programmes of the Delta Government are structured to empower the people and bring more development to communities.

“Governor Oborevwori’s Government has done a lot on consolidation of projects of previous administration and sustenances of peace in Delta. He is very desirous of bringing the people of the State together.

“Today, I’m happy Isoko is going forward in unity. And I thank you for the efforts in bringing everyone here together. I want you all to put your heart to ensure the aim of the Group is successful.

“So, starting from today, we must ensure our people run in the same position with us. The umbrella of the PDP is big enough to accommodate everyone.

“Very importantly, let’s support our leaders to fight for the empowerment of our people for it’s only when we are behind our leadership, in unity that is when we can get our people truly empowered.” Ukodhiko added.

Earlier in his remark, Director-General of the group, Chief Frank Ozue said, all the 24 Wards in Isoko Federal Constituency are well represented in the group.
