Umeh, others hail Anambra at 27

Victor Umeh, the senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, has commended Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State for his continued efforts to boost entrepreneurial spirit among youths of Anambra.

Umeh said this while being interviewed by newsmen at Adazi Nnukwu, Anaocha LGA on `journey’ of Anambra State for 27 years.

“At 27, Ndi Anambra has every reason to thank God, judging by uninterrupted growth and development of the state.

“Since All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, came on board, the state has known peace.

“And Obiano led-Administration has continued to boost entrepreneurial spirit among youths of the state thereby launching the state above its peers,’’ Umeh said.

He identified human capital development as one of the major ways of fostering development in any society which the current administration had been able to achieve.

Ifeanyi Okechukwu, Anambra State chairman, Trade Union Congress, TUC, said that Obiano government made the most significant effort toward the development of the state since its creation in 1991.

“Governor Obiano has taken development of the state to the grassroots through his unprecedented N20 million Community Choose Your Project Initiative, now in its second phase,’’ Okechukwu noted.

Peter Ozumba, Anambra APGA Youths leader, said a lot of silent revolutions had been taking place in the state.

“Every indigene of the state is benefiting from the quality of leadership of the present administration,’’ Ozumba said.

He urged the federal government to work fast on outstanding projects in the state – the River Niger Port and the 2nd Niger Bridge, which if completed would boost economies of the state and the Nation.

Alex Onukwue, national president, Anambra State Association of Town Unions, ASATU, adjudged the state as the safest and one of the most stabile economies in the country.

Onukwue, who doubles as Deputy President, Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo, Anambra, praised Obiano government for transforming all sectors of the state’s economy.
