Umuoji union in Lagos mourns death of Sly Onyima

THE Umuoji Improvement Union, UIU, Lagos branch has expressed shock and disbelief over the gruesome murder of the President General of Umuoji town, Sly Onyima.
In a statement signed by the President and Secretary of the group, Tony Ezeude and Obiaku Cornelius respectively on Thursday, February 29, 2024, the group acknowledged the good works of the late president during his short tenure. According to the UPU, within a very short time of his leadership, Umuoji enjoyed “unprecedented pace of development”.
The statement stated that under his leadership as the President General of Umuoji, he constructed a civic centre in seven months A.K.A the white house”, proper maintenance of roads, installation of CCTV in major Streets of umuoji, reconstruction of Nkwo Umuoji Market, reconstruction of Umuoji Stadium, and many more deeds.
Onyima was murdered on Friday, February 23, 2024 in his house, in Umuoji. He was found in the evening in his bathroom in the pool of his blood.
It was gathered that he had come back to Umuoji for a burial and the planning for an election for one of the 23 villages in Umuoji Dimboko and also the preparation of the Town’s annual Festival Uzoiyi in March.
Meanwhile, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the spokesperson of Anambra State Police Command, said that four suspects had been arrested by the Police operatives in connection with the murder of Onyima. Stop it here.
