UMARU Musa Yar’adua University (UMYU), Katsina, has dismissed as fake and dubious information circulating in social media on the registration for Post-UTME credited to the institution.

The Registrar of the university, Mr Muhammad Yusufu-Abubakar, alerted the public in a statement on Thursday in Katsina.

He said: “UMYU is informing all members of the public that a fake and dubious information on the conduct of the 2024 Post-UTME for UTME and DE candidates in respect of UMYU is now circulating in the social media.

“Consequent upon this, the management of the university, hereby affirms that the information is fake and a scam from fraudsters who may want to take advantage to defraud innocent people.

“Parents, guardians, candidates and all other stakeholders are strongly advised not to allow themselves to fall in the trap.

“And as such, the fake information should be ignored in its entirety.”

He, however, said that the management of the university would soon approve the registration and conduct of the 2024 Post-UTME for UTME candidates and the screening of the DE candidates via the “usual proper channels”.

Yusufu-Abubakar urged the public to be vigilant and report suspects to the nearest police station or any law enforcement offices for prompt action. (NAN)
