SEN. Adeniyi Adegbonmire, representing Ondo Central Senatorial District, has said that unanimous decision of the Supreme Court had validated the Feb. 25 presidential election won by President Bola Tinubu.

Adegbonmire, in a statement  made available to newsmen on Thursday in Akure, congratulated, President Tinubu, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the verdict  of the Supreme Court .

The News Agency of Nigeria  (NAN) reports that the seven-man panel of justices of the court dismissed the appeal by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party, and their respective presidential candidates, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Mr Peter Obi.

The senator said he received the news of the acourt’s verdict with excitement and great pleasure.

“The judgement of the supreme court is a great victory for our democracy and rule of law,” he said.

The lawmaker said the unanimous decision of the seven-member panel of the apex court in the land had cleared any doubts as to the victory of APC in the election.

He said that with the judgment, all distractions would cease and the president would be fully settled for the task of building the nation.

Also, Mr Olumide Ogidan, the Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association ( NBA) in Ondo State, said that the Supreme Court’s judgment was meritorious and pleasing.

Ogidan explained that the grounds put forward by the petitioners before the court were dead on arrival.

He stated that the petitioners should have known that the Supreme Court would not entertain fresh evidence nor allow any amendment.

According to him, the Supreme Court is right in all its decisions.( NAN)
