Unemployed man docked for alleged possession of fabricated firearm

AN unemployed man, Shagari Ibrahim, was on Wednesday docked in an Upper Area Court, in Karu, Abuja for allegedly being in possession of a fabricated firearm without a reason.
The police charged Ibrahim with illegal possession of locally fabricated firearm.
The Prosecution Counsel, Mr O.O Olayemi, told the court that the defendant was arrested by the intelligence response team ofthe police.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the offence.
The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of Section 319A of the Penal Code.
The Judge, Malam Hassan Mohammed, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200, 000 with one surety in like sum.
Mohammed ordered that the surety must be reside within the jurisdiction of the court and address must be verified by a court officer.
He adjourned the case until Dec. 12 for further hearing. (NAN)
