AN Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Wednesday sentenced an unemployed man, Nurudeen Raji, to one year imprisonment for stealing two phones.
Magistrate Abimbola Amole-Ajimoti sentenced Raji without an option of fine.
Amole-Ajimoti ruled that Raji was found guilty as charged.
The police had earlier charged Raji with theft.
The Prosecution Counsel, Mr Philip Amusan, told the court that the convict committed the offence on April 15, at about 4 p.m, at New Goshen Land church, Ososami, Ibadan.
Amusan said Raji stole an iPhone11 promax worth N550, 000 and a Nokia phone worth N9, 500 belonging to Ms Funmilayo Odofin.
He said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 390(9) of the Criminal laws of Oyo State, 2000. (NAN).
