Unemployment: Acquire more skills, FG tells youths, women

THE Federal Government has urged youths and women to acquire more skills to create jobs for themselves and improve the country’s revenue generation. 

Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Monilola Udoh, made the call during a capacity training programme on bio-resources organised for unemployed youths and women in Ibadan, Oyo State, a statement by the ministry said yesterday. 

Udoh said the capacity training programme, organised by the Federal Government, in collaboration with Oyo State, exposed the participants to technological and innovative way of using bio-resources  to improve their income for better livelihood.

She said the training was also aimed at reducing unemployment to enable Nigerians to earn income for sustainable livelihood through bio-resources exploitation and sustainable use.

 She said the present state of unemployment in the country posed a huge threat to the social and economic development.
