THE University of Jos is to hold a combined convocation ceremony for its 2016 and 2017 graduates from June 18 to June 23, its Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sebastian Maimako, announced on Thursday in Jos.

The Vice Chancellor, while inaugurating a 17-man committee for the event, directed the members to ensure that all graduates had their certificates during the exercise.

“You must pay attention to every small detail; you must ensure that no certificate is delayed. Our students cannot be stranded after graduation,’’ he said.

Maimako urged members of the committee to see the assignment as a call to service for which the university would remain eternally grateful.

In his response, chairman of the Central Convocation Committee and Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics), Prof. Nelson Ochekpe, promised that the committee would work as a team and deliver on its mandate.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the 43-year-old institution would be holding its 29th and 30th convocations during the ceremony.
