THE USAID Strengthening Advocacy and Civic Engagement Project will host the 2.0 Mindset Series to share learning through a discourse on how to undertake effective policy reform advocacy for good governance.

The 2.0 Mindset Series with the theme, “Effective Advocacy, Strategies and Tactics: what makes the difference?” will hold on Tuesday February 9, 2016 at Best Western Hotel Allen Avenue Ikeja Lagos and February 16, 2016 by 6pm.

The 2.0 Mindset Series is a sequence of discourses to share the skills and experience of successful practitioners and change agents and supply side recipients of such. It aims to strengthen the capacity of the Project partners, their collaborators, and the wider public on ‘what works’ in advocacy efforts.

The discourse will host distinguished speakers which include Ayo Obe, a seasoned lawyer and human rights activist; Gbenga Sesan of Paradigm Initiative Nigeria; Ngozi Iwere of Community Life Project; Segun Olulade, chairman, Lagos State House Committee on Health Services; and Adunni Akindele, executive secretary, Mosan Okunola Local Council Development Area, Alimosho Lagos State.

“We are very excited about the level of interest we have received from speakers and attendees to this one of a kind meeting” said Charles Abani, the Chief of Party of the Project. “The speakers at the 2.0 Mindset Series are experienced advocates in their field and it is important that all these voices are heard as we work toward our common goal of improving governance in Nigeria.”

The discourse will bring together over 100 civil society actors including non-governmental organizations, media stakeholders, private sector and public institutions to discuss what effective advocacy strategies looks like. The 2.0 Mindset series will provide a platform where experience from different governance experts can be shared; identify and discuss the challenges of advocating for policy reforms; and discuss ways in which the challenges have been and can be addressed.
