V/ball Premier League: NSCDC thrash Kano Pillars 3-0

NIGERIA Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), on Monday thrashed Kano pillars 3-0 in the men’s category of the ongoing 2023 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League in Abuja.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the match played at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, saw Kano pillars team struggled hard but they couldn’t win a set.
The NSCDC team won the first set 25-19, second 25-18 and 25-24 to end the game 3-0.
Speaking after the match, Ajayi Samuel, Head coach of NSCDC said that the players were fantastic.
He said that the team struggle in their first and second matches to win on Sunday but showed what they were made up of in subsequent match.
“ The boys are beginning to kick up. We will continue to work hard to make sure we maintain our unbeaten record in the league.
“ I am happy with the output of the team with what I have seen today. we hope to continue.
“ In our first match we defeated beat COAS 3-2, Kada stars 3-2, Spartans Spikers 3-0 and today we defeated Kano pillars 3-0,” he said.
On his part, Moses Gana, the Captain of Kano pillars, said the players played well lost because of inexperience.
“We could have won the match but our key players were down , they couldn’t perform well and this has shown in our games played so far in the league .
“ We are going back to re strategies and hope to come back and win our next match.
“However, the results of today will not demoralized our team nor our morale .It’s normal as a sportsman you must prepared to lose or win,” he said.
He said that his team came well prepared and didn’t come here as spectators.
“We have won two matches and lost two matches ,” he said.
NAN reports that Offa VC recorded another victory over Nigeria immigration service ( NIS ) 3-1 ( 25-22,21-25,25-19,25-20,).
NAN reports that NSCDC take on life camp VC team in their next match while Kano Pillars will battle COAS on Wednesday..
18 teams are participating in the league comprising nine male teams and nine female teams.
The 2023 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League which started on July 12 is expected to end on July 23.(NAN)(
